Possessing both the ruggedness and reliability needed for demanding indoor and outdoor public access and process control applications, the touch-sensitive Series 75 keyboards feature an integrated mouse. The keyboards can be sealed "behind glass" against chemical attack, operator abuse, vandalism, and hygienic washdown and are available in panel and through-panel styles. Their solid-state technology is intrinsically safe in hostile environments, it's claimed.
The keyboards have no switching contacts, no membranes, and no moving parts. Instead, when a key is touched, changes in a high-frequency signal identify and activate the key within the keyboard matrix. The keyboards are designed for activation through virtually any non-conductor such as toughened glass, ceramic, plastic, marble and wood. The standard keyboard product is sealed to IP66 standards and offers extended service life.
