Fiber-Optic Cable Assemblies Eliminate Air Gaps

The MTP/MTO multi-mode, fiber-optic cable assemblies feature a unique protruding fiber finish design that is said to eliminate air gaps between mating fibers, thereby reducing signal loss and back reflection. These assemblies are designed to solve signal bandwidth, signal loss, and cable management problems. Applications include cabinet-to-cabinet or board-to-board interconnects where discrete fiber assemblies are too bulky. Features include an insertion loss of 0.3 dB typical, a reflection loss of less than -30 dB typical, and compliance with Telecordia GR-409, TIA/EIA 568, and ANSI HIPPI-6400-OPT specifications.
