Mobile Phone Filter Fits In Small, Flip-Chip Package

Sept. 1, 2000

Targeting the mobile phone market, the EMIF10 is an integrated passive and active device (IPAD) that combines low-pass filtering with ESD protection in a device no thicker than 650 µm. The device is characterized by bump contacts of 0.5-mm pitch and 0.3-mm diameter. It is fully compatible with the classical BGA assembly process and does not require any under-filling when mounted on the board. Due to a symmetrical structure, the device complies with IEC61000-4-2 level 4 ESD protection on both input and output pins. Its integrator function prevents the latch-up effect in the connected IC by reducing the dv/dt at its input. Pricing is $0.62 each/1,000,000.
