Switching Regulators Pack 80W/In.3 In Mini Plastic Package

Oct. 1, 2000

Through use of chip-on-board (COB) assembly technology, a new series of high efficiency (87% typ.), low-voltage switching regulators has been developed that achieves a power density of 80W/in.3 in a miniature plastic package measuring just 0.75" x 0.80" x 0.50". Targeted for use in select commercial, industrial and military applications and similar in design to standard 3-pin, non-isolated devices, OM955 Series switching regulators have a 5V input and 3.3V, 2.5V, 1.8V or 1.5V at 3A output. The modules include a MOSFET, Schottky diode, 22 µF input capacitor, and 330 µF output cap. Their operating temperature range is -25°C to 85°C. And price starts at $15.25 each/1,000.
