Incorporating a patented design said to significantly reduce noise, the FTR-P5 pc board-mounted automotive relay delivers an average sound pressure level of 50 dB at 5 cm. This compact switching device occupies just 198 mm2 of board space and weighs only about 13g.
The single-pole relay is capable of continuously carrying current of 25A, with nominal power consumption being 450 mW. And a single cover structure maximizes heat dissipation. Other features include 0.3 mm or 0.6mm contact gaps, an operating temperature range of from -40°C to 85°C, and a mechanical life of 10 million operations minimum. Available with 9, 10 and 12 Vdc coils, the automotive relay costs $1.57 each/10,000.
