T1/E1 Transformer Module Integrates Chip-Side Protection

March 1, 2001

Combining eight transformers (four transmit and four receive) and a surge protection diode array into a single module, the T9021 quad-port T1/E1 device is designed to provide chip-side protection for ICs used in customer premises equipment or telephone company multiplexers, WANs, internet-working interfaces, etc. Designed to meet the major standards relating to surge immunity and electrical safety, the T9021 transformer module is matched and compatible with PMC-Sierra's Comet chip when used with other recommended protection components.
With its integrated diode array, the module effectively provides IC-side protection while reducing the number of board-level discrete components. The T9021 is priced from $12.75 each/25,000.
