The new 23S00 bobbin-wound, surface-mount inductors are low DC resistance devices designed for use in switching power supplies, power line filter circuits, and DC/DC converters. Inductance values for the series range from 2.2 to 220 µH (1 kHzRMS, 100 mVac), making the devices compatible with a wide range of off-the-shelf chipsets. Maximum continuous DC current ratings start at 0.25A for the 220 µH devices, increasing to 2.1A for the 2.2 µH parts, while corresponding maximum DC resistance values range from 2.28 ohms to just 0.019 ohms. Occupying a maximum board area of only 5.6 x 6.2 mm and featuring a board-mounted profile of only 3.2 mm, the inductors are particularly suited to applications where space is at a premium. The integral EMI shield further helps to reduce board space by allowing the inductors to be mounted in close proximity to other components. The inductors operate at temperatures from -40°C to +85°C and are supplied in tape-and-reel packaging. Price: $0.40 each/10,000.
