PC/104 Plus CPU Module Improves Video Capabilities

In its latest inception, the Panther PC/104 Plus CPU module has upped its resources with 4 MB of video RAM and an upgrade from the original C&T 69000 to the 69030 video-controller chip. The new module supports socket-7 CPUs up to 400 Mhz, including Pentium, K6, K6-2, K6-III and, for fanless operation, the K6-3E.
On-board features include an SVGA CRT and flat-panel display interface, a 10/100 Ethernet interface, and 512 KB of L2 cache. the module supports up to 128 MB of RAM and up to 96 MB of non-volatile flash memory. Latching I/O connectors are provided, as well as a watchdog timer, voltage-sensing circuit, self-resetting fuse on the 5V supply, and keyboard, mouse and USB ports. Software compatibility includes Windows NT/95/98/CE/ NT Embedded, QNX, Linux and RT-Linux. Depending on the processor, prices start around $1,000 each/OEM quantities.
