cPCI Controller Gets Speed Boost

The VMICPCI-8420 CompactPCI, PC-based controller is now available with an 850-MHz Pentium III processor. Offered as a complete 19" rack system, the cPCI controller card also features two RS-232 ports, a 6 GB hard drive, floppy drive, 320W power supply, two USB ports, external CD-ROM connector, built-in SVGA video, and a built-in Ethernet port. The new version of the board also includes a hot-swap compatible backplane. Operating system support is for Windows NT and VxWorks. Price starts at $5,962. VMIC, Huntsville, AL. (800) 322-3616.
