At 1-mm thick, the LPO1704 Power Wafer is said to be 20% thinner than any other low profile power inductor currently on the market. The inductors have a 6.5 mm x 5.5 mm footprint and come in 16 models with inductance values ranging from 1 µH to 330 µH and RMS current ratings up to 3.6A. A specially designed ceramic case provides protection for the winding while a flat top makes the inductors compatible with pick-and-place machinery. Cost of a typical inductance value is $0.49 each/10,000 with delivery from stock. Samples and a designer kit (C142) containing all 16 values are also available. COILCRAFT, Cary, IL. (847) 639-6400.
