Enclosures Designed To Hug Bodies More Comfortably

May 1, 2002

Well-suited for use as housing for medical and mobile instrumentation, the Ergo-Cases feature special contoured surfaces that allow the cases to be comfortably strapped to a personÕs arm, leg or waist. Molded of off-white or black ABS (UL 94 HB), the ergonomic, body-hugging enclosures consist of a top and base that clip together and are secured by two self-tapping screws. The base part includes an access plate and aperture for fitting three types of battery cradles for 4 x 1.5V AA, 1 x 9V or 2 x 9V cells into the enclosures.Ergo-Cases also have a recess in the top for mounting membrane keypads and internal pillars for mounting pc boards. And the front-end is said to be ideal for fitting cables for probes or sensors. An eyelet accessory is used to fit the cases to an arm strap or belt, and the cases can be sealed to IP54 for outdoor use. Silk-screen printing, special colors, and other options are also available. Prices for Ergo-Cases start at $12.40. For more information, contact Sean Bailey at OKW ENCLOSURES INC., Bridgeville, PA. (800) 965-9872.
