Constructed of durable, high-temperature materials, the NCT series of dynamic micro speakers is said to be the first such devices having the heat resistance necessary to withstand reflow soldering processes. The surface-mount speakers conform to EIAJ ED-4702 industry standards, qualifying the units for use on pc boards with other SMT components. The compact, 15 mm x 15 mm x 4 mm high NCT series speakers offer a low, 1,700 Hz resonance frequency, power dissipation of only 0.4W, coil impedance of 8 ohms ±1.2 ohms, and a flat frequency response that produces a sound volume of 95 dB ±5 dB at 10 cm. The dynamic micro speakers are available with either a side or top sound port and cost $1 each in OEM quantities. STAR MICRONICS AMERICA INC., Edison, NJ. (800) 782-7636.
