PCI Card Integrates Motion Control And Vision

Sept. 1, 2002

Integrating motion control and vision into one PC, the PCI8164 four-axis, motion control PCI card includes position-compare trigger outputs that link with vision system controllers. An on-board lookup table compares the actual position with a pre-programmed coordinator in real time. The card delivers pulses up to 6.55 Mb/s and provides a pulse-command output interface and trajectory planning for stepping and ac/dc servo motors. An ASIC performs most of the motion-control tasks while software performs monitoring functions. This allows the card to operate up to 48 motors. Price is $999 each/10.
