The Rabbit 3000 microprocessor is described as an extremely low-EMI, eight-bit processor designed for embedded control, communications, and Ethernet connectivity. Boards employing the device exhibit EMI figures of less than 10 dB µV/m at 3m and, according to the company, some tests have reported results of 0 dB. Its spectrum spreader reduces clock-related EMI and derivative signals by approximately 15 dB. The device operates up to 54 MHz and is C-compatible with compact code and direct software support for 1 MB of code and data space. Other features include 3.3V operation with 5V tolerant I/O, six serial ports with IrDA, 56 digital I/O lines, a quadrature decoder, PWM outputs, and pulse capture and measurement capabilities. It also includes a battery-backable real-time clock, glueless interfacing, and low-power modes. Development tools include support for Internet and network connectivity with full source code for TCP/IP provided royalty free. A development kit includes the processor, RabbitCore core module, flash and SRAM, prototyping board, and a Dynamic C SE software development system.
