Optimized for surge protection, voltage division and motor control applications in consumer appliances and entertainment products, such as washing machines, televisions and computer monitors, the CPS series of wirewound resistors incorporate radial terminals fitted with lock-in tips to ensure stability and security during assembly. Combined with the series’ high-temperature coating, these specially designed terminals work to increase circuit board reliability. The series currently includes three devices with lengths ranging from 24 mm (with 15.2 mm spacing between terminals) to 44.5 mm (with a 35.5 mm terminal-to-terminal spacing). The resistors are encapsulated in a high temperature silicone, allowing operation at temperatures ranging from -65ºC to +350ºC. Power ratings of 4W, 5W and 6.5W are available. The devices can replace bulkier, ceramic boat, CPR-style resistors. VISHAY INTERTECHNOLOGY INC., Malvern, PA. (610) 644-1300.
