Building on the modularity and extensive feature set of the company’s existing I/O boards, the CP382 is a 3U/4HP board with 24 digital output channels that, at a starting price of $520, is said to be comparable in price to similar 12 to 16 port boards. Each channel delivers up to 500 mA of current, with low output potential rated at less than 1.5V while high nominal potential is 24V. Power supply ranges from 9.5V to 35V and the operating temperature range is 0°C to 70°C, with an extended, -40°C to +85°C range optional. The CP382 I/O board also incorporates several safety features to ensure stable operation, including over-temperature thermal shutdown at 150°C, under-voltage protection with an upper threshold of 9.5V, and maximum over-current protection of 1.2A. The PICMG 2.0 rev. D3.0-compliant card also has an application programming interface (API) to ease connection to visualization tools and supports Windows, VxWorks and Linux software.
