A new enclosure has been designed for airborne, ship and ground mobile systems, as well as other harsh environment applications. The 3.4ATR-WA-M28 Airborne Rack accommodates 6U VME64x boards, as well as any IEEE1101-compliant convection-cooled board employing a backplane with P0 connectors. The enclosure meets RTCADO160D and MIL-STD-810 requirements for harsh environment and airborne use and is qualified for operating temperatures of -45°C to +75°C. The 3/4ATR-WA-M28 employs conductive interior surfaces using flat gasketing to reduce EMC/EMI in accordance with MIL-STD-461. The enclosure has a 28 Vdc supply, a 300W input and four outputs. The Airborne Rack is cooled by a single fan. Two I/O connectors and a power connector are all compliant with MIL-C-38999. Pricing starts at $25,520. THALES COMPUTERS, Raleigh, NC. (800) 848-2330.
