The Model 4205 PowerPC VIM and PMC carrier board targets embedded applications requiring high-performance I/O and processing, but without the added expense of multiple processors. The board features a Motorola MPC7455 AltiVec Processor and two Xilinx Virtex-II FPGAs. In addition to its mezzanine I/O capabilities, Model 4205 supports numerous interfaces including VME64, Ethernet, RS-232, and optionally Fibre Channel and Dual RACE++, all while maintaining a single VMEbus slot. Different data flow and control architectures can be selected from a menu of built-in configurations. Additional custom signal processing configurations and algorithms can be implemented with the company's GateFlow FPGA Design Kit. PENTEK INC., Upper Saddle River, NJ. (201) 818-5900.
