Serving to extend, performance-wise, a line of VME and CompactPCI CPU boards, the EUROCOM 148 features a complete PC kernel with graphics, VMEbus interface and additional PMC module, all in a single-slot VME card. With a clock speed of 600 to 1,266 MHz for Pentium III or Celeron processors, the board has enough computing power for complex real-time applications, such as control tasks with intensive numerical calculations. On-board are up to 512 MB of SDRAM and two 10/100-Mbit Ethernet ports, allowing separate and simultaneous communication with a central control computer and field bus controllers. The board also features two asynchronous serial I/O lines with RS-232 ports, with the VMEbus interface implemented in an ASIC format that contains the PCI-to-VME bridge. Pricing for the EUROCOM 148 CPU board starts at about $2,200. AMERICAN ELTEC INC., Las Vegas, NV. (702) 878-4085.
