With applicomIO v2.2, the PCI-ETHIO Ethernet controller board embeds and performs communication with I/O slave devices. Initially released with the Schneider Open Modbus TCP/IP protocol, the new app allows connection with Rockwell Ethernet/IP protocol. The controller board is available in PC/104, PCI and cPCI bus formats for Profibus, CANopen and DeviceNet networks and provides real-time data acquisition from the device bus level to control systems, visualization software, and various industrial applications. The boards are suited to manage communication with I/O devices in industrial computerized systems running specific or Softlogic applications with time critical constraint under Windows platforms and real-time operating systems, such as Linux, VxWorks, QNX and Phar Lap ETS. With the help of applicomIO software, data can be exchanged through software interfaces, such as DLL and Wonderware I/O server; ActiveX control for programming tools such as Visual Basic is also provided.
