In addition to new E and R case sizes, this new series of solid tantalum chip capacitors also boasts of high capacitance values and ultra-low ESR. The conformally coated 597D multi-anode capacitors claim increased reliability and improved reception in dc-to-dc conversion, line card, motherboard, and power supply applications. Maximum ESR values range from 13 to 35 mW at 25°C and 100 kHz. Capacitance values range from 330 to 1,500 mF with standard tolerances of ±10% and ±20%; working voltages range from 4 to 10 WVdc. Maximum current leakage ranges from 27 to 68 mA and maximum dissipation factor is 6% at 25°C and 120 Hz. Capacitors in the E case size measure 0.287" x 0.169" x 0.157" high. The R case measures 0.287" x 0.236" x 0.142". Operating temperatures extend from -55°C to +85°C - up to +125°C with voltage derating. Available in tape-and-reel packaging, the 597D capacitors are priced starting at $1.70 each. More details are available from VISHAY INTERTECHNOLOGY INC., Malvern, PA. (610) 644-1300.
