Requiring no external host controller or programming, the SBT-800-BBM Bluetooth module targets simple, plug-and-play industrial applications. The Bluetooth specification version 1.1 compliant module measures just 34 mm x 16.5 mm x 3 mm while providing numerous features. These include a 16-bit, RISC mixed-signal microcontroller, 128 Kb of I2C EEPROM, ROM-based memory with patch RAM, automatic on-chip calibration, programmable output-power control, USB version 1.1/HID and UART interfaces, PCM codec interface, and a 50 ohms RF port for direct antenna connection. The MCU boasts a 16-bit RISC architecture with a 125 ns instruction cycle time. The module operates from a 3.3V supply and in temperatures from -20°C to 70°C. It can be accessed via USB, UART, PCM, UART, and GPIO interfaces. Serial onboard programming and debugging through JTAG are also provided. SUPERBT CANADA INC., Ontario, Canada. (519) 569-7818.
