Frame Grabber Teams JPEG Compression With Digital I/O

The Model 617-4 combines the functions of a frame grabber, hardware JPEG compression, and digital I/O into a single PCI board. It accepts four composite video inputs and routes them to separate video decoders for digitizing, an approach that is said to eliminate the loss of frames during channel switching. Other features include a capture rate of 30 fps at 640 x 480 or 120 fps at 320 x 240 and software that supports multiple frame grabbers on the same PCI bus.
