For desktop PCs and servers, the company’s 240-position vertical memory sockets accept standard DDR2 memory modules and are available with through-mount leads for solder termination or eye-of-needle compliant leads for press-fit termination. Available solder tail options support 1.58 mm to 2.36 mm thick motherboards, while press-fit options extend use to thicker motherboards. Lead-free options are available for both termination types and all connectors provide mechanical voltage keying and end latches for module retention and ejection. The through-mount connector versions provide options for molded orientation posts or metal fork locks to provide retention prior to soldering. The press-fit connectors also offer an option for translucent latches that can be used in combination with LEDs to provide a visual indication of slot status. FCI, Etters, PA. (800) 237-2374.
