Claiming a first, the single-port SeaLINK+232.PC and dual-port SeaLINK+2/232.PC USB-to-RS-232 adapters mount directly in a spare bracket within a PC chassis, eliminating the need for external converters. Both models derive power from the USB and deliver data rates to 460 Kb/s. The SeaLINK+232.PC adapter is available with either a low-profile PC bracket or standard PC bracket, while the SeaLINK+2/232.PC comes with a standard PC bracket. Both include a 14" cable that connects them to most motherboard USB box header connectors, and they use only one USB port per serial port. Custom cable options are also available. They also come with the SeaCOM suite of Windows drivers, which also includes drivers, utilities, application notes, and technical details for Linux, QNX, and DOS applications. Prices for the SeaLINK+232.PC and +2/232.PC start at $69 and $129 each, respectively. SEALEVEL SYSTEMS INC., Liberty, SC. (864) 843-4343.
