The Gecko, an EPIC format single-board computer, provides below-the-board expansion connectors and pass-through connectors for both the PC/104 and PC/104-Plus signals. The pass-through connectors accommodate I/O expansion both above and below the board. This approach essentially creates two expansion sites. Board features include an AMD GX-500 low-power processor, SODIMM socket supporting up to 512 MB DDR RAM, analog and LVDS flat-panel video interfaces, 10/100 Ethernet, four USB ports, four COM ports, IDE interface, compact flash socket, eight 12-bit analog inputs, and 16 lines of digital I/O. The board also includes ESD protection, fanless operation, and a watchdog timer. Operating system support includes Win95/98/NT/CE/XP, QNX, VxWorks, and Linux. Price is $694 in OEM quantities.
