For constantly shrinking WLAN and WiMax designs, the UPG2163T5N GaAs, MMIC SPDT switch debuts in a miniature, 6-pin TQFN package measuring 1.5-mm square and 0.37-mm high. This represents a 46% reduction in footprint and a 57% reduction in height when compared to industry-standard SOT-363 offerings. The device operates at frequencies from 2.3 to 6 GHz with typical insertion losses of 0.4 dB at 2.5 GHz and 0.5 dB at 6 GHz. Other specs include an input-to-output isolation of 35 dB at 2.5 GHz and 30 dB at 6 GHz, and, with an input power of 1 dB, typical power-handling levels of 31 dBm at 3V/2.5 GHz and 29 dBm at 3V/6 GHz. Price starts at $0.42 each/100,000. CALIFORNIA EASTERN LABORATORIES, Santa Clara, CA. (408) 988-3500.
