Applications that require high-surge capabilities while operating in unforgiving locales can get a leg up with the W20 series vitreous enameled wirewound resistors. Their protective coatings and markings are resistant to all industrial cleaning solvents commonly used on printed-circuit boards. Resistance values range from 0.1Ω to 100 kΩ with power ratings of 3W, 5W, 7W, 10W, and 14W with limiting element voltages between 100V and 750V. Standard tolerances are as low as 1% with typical TCRs between 75 ppm/°C and 200 ppm/°C. Pricing begins at $0.29 each/1,000 with lead times from 10 to 12 weeks. IRC INC., Boone, NC. (828) 264-8861.
