Custom tailored to the IR1150 µPFC ac/dc control IC, the IRAC1150-D2 power-factor correction (PFC) design kit teams with a PFC design tool that is available at the myPOWER online design center. The design kit is essentially a 1.1" square control circuit that users can drop into an existing power supply. It comes with an assembled and tested reference design board, five IR1150STR ICs, two 8ETX06 rectifiers, a user guide, application notes, device data sheets, and printed circuit board files (Gerber, .dxf, and .cad). Design help comes by way of a two-step process within the online tool. Users enter system requirements, and the design tool generates a complete bill of materials. Price for the design kit is $195, and the on-line PFC design tool is available at no charge. For more information, contact Wayne Yoshida at INTERNATIONAL RECTIFIER, El Segundo, CA. (310) 252-7726.
