Entering the market as the first four-channel LVDS buffers with configurable output pre-emphasis, the DS90LV004 and SCAN90004 1.5 Gb/s, four-channel buffer/repeaters promise to boost FPGA and ASIC signal integrity across backplanes and cables. Both provide hot-plug protection and 15 kV of ESD protection. The DS90LV004 drives up to four LVDS clock and/or data channels over common backplanes or cable configurations. Its wide differential input range interfaces to LVDS, LVPECL, or CML inputs and the outputs are LVDS compliant. Otherwise identical to the DS90LV004, the SCAN90004 features IEEE 1149.6 (JTAG) testability. The DS90LV004 and SCAN90004 are available in 48-pin TQFPs, priced at $4.95 and $5.20 each/1,000, respectively. Evaluation boards and lead-free package options are also available.
