Heeding user requirements for improved manufacturing yields and assembly efficiencies, the company has added pin-compliant solderless press-fit edgecard connectors to its arsenal of offerings. The 0.1" contact centerline connectors pair rugged insulators with gold-plated contacts to ensure signal integrity in high-cycle applications. The press-fit edgecards feature 0.1" spacing on 0.062" daughter boards and support 0.093" to 0.125" thick motherboards. Additionally, they are RoHS-complaint and employable as back-panel connectors as they eliminate the challenges that often arise when thicker, multi-layer pc boards with a high copper content are subjected to the high temperatures associated with conventional or wave soldering. Other features include configurations ranging from 5/10 to 60/120, black PBT insulators, and a current rating of 3A per contact pair. Average pricing ranges from $0.53 to $0.83 per contact pair in production quantities. SULLINS ELECTRONICS CORP., San Marcos, CA (888) 774-3100.
