\[July 31, 2006\] Unveiled as the industry's only 3A power chip that integrates full digital power management capabilities, the ZL2105 combines a synchronous step-down converter--including synchronous power MOSFETs--with power-management functionality into a 6 mm x 6 mm package. The part can provide an output voltage from 0.6V to 5.5V from an input voltage between 4.5V and 14V. Similar to the company's other Digital-DC devices, the ZL2105 is fully configurable with pin-strap connections, resistor selection, or via it's on-board serial port using the industry-standard SMbus power-management bus command set. In a 36-lead QFN package, pricing starts at $2.80 each/1,000. An evaluation kit, the ZL2105EV1, is also available. ZILKER LABS INC., Austin, TX. (512) 382-8300.
