\[October 3, 2003\] With a 2.00-mm pitch and 0.1-mm coplanarity, the Minitek family of modular connector systems meets the latest process requirements. Compared to 2.54-mm pitch systems, the Minitek connectors require 38% less board space, and the 0.1-mm coplanarity requires less solder paste. The result is a reduction of up to 25% in applied costs, according to FCI. The connectors include pc-board receptacles, slim-line and shrouded headers, crimp-to-wire housings and terminals, unshrouded headers, and IDC receptacles. They come in surface-mount and through-hole, double-row versions, in either straight or right angle orientation from four to 50 positions. Maximum current rating is 2A per contact. The connectors meet all environmental requirements for lead-free manufacturing and are RoHS-compliant. Check with the company for price and availability. FCI, Etters, PA. (800) 237-2374.
