Tailored to mobile phones, portable audio and video players, and entertainment consoles, the AMRX-1500 scroll-wheel device integrates a 5-way tactile switch in a package measuring 1.95-mm thick and 18.5 mm in diameter. Employing the company’s reflective optical technology, the horizontal scroll wheel provides a 2-channel quadrature output with a resolution of 45 cycles per revolution. It operates from a single 2.4V to 3.3V supply and delivers a single-ended 1.8V CMOS output. Featuring plug-and-play connectivity through a flexible printed-circuit board, the device requires no signal adjustment. Other features include a power-down mode, in which the device draws just 4 µA. RoHS-compliant and lead-free, pricing for the AMRX-1500 ranges from $4 to $6 each depending on quantity and customizations. AVAGO TECHNOLOGIES, San Jose, CA. (877) 673-9442.
