Achieving benchmarks in multi-mode design and integration, the SEQ7400 assumes title as the industry's first single-chip, polar-transmit 7-band HEDGE RF transceiver. The device also boasts of the industry's highest level of integration, lowest power consumption, and the lightest phone-level calibration burden. It employs a common architecture polar modulation, which is shared across all modes and supports WCDMA, HSDPA, EDGE, GPRS, and GSM modes across seven frequency bands simultaneously, making it applicable to worldwide networks. The receiver includes all LNAs and eliminates the need for external WCDMA SAW filters. In addition, the polar-modulation transmit architecture eliminates the transmit SAW filters for GSM/EDGE. Available in an 8 mm x 8 mm BGA package, samples and RF evaluation boards are available now with volume production expected in the second half of the year. SEQUOIA COMMUNICATIONS, San Diego, CA.
