Version 3.0 of PSoC Express, a visual embedded-system design tool for PSoC mixed-signal arrays, now includes real-time monitoring and tuning. The application, designed for use with the company's CapSense touch sensing and EZ-Color LED control devices, allows users to monitor application data via an I2C-to-USB bridge connected to a target board. It acquires and logs data and enables users to select variables, set sample rates, and view updated-variable values in real time. With the target board still running, the tuner allows the adjustment of configurations and system-performance tuning. In addition to monitoring and tuning functionality, PSoC Express 3.0 adds a new user interface with the look and feel of Microsoft's Visual Studio. It enables window docking, drag and drop placement of drivers, and window switching. The version also includes additional drivers including support for high-brightness LEDs plus wireless and LCD drivers. CYPRESS SEMICONDUCTOR CORP., San Jose, CA. (800) 541-4736.
