For radar, SDR, and SIGINT applications, the XMC-E2201 dual-channel, 16-bit digital receiver XMC/PMC mezzanine card employs two Virtex-5 FPGAs to deliver 160 Msamples/s per channel. The card handles an input bandwidth in excess of 700 MHz and specifies a SNR beyond 77 dB. Its twin FPGA architecture dedicates one DSP FPGA for acquisition of the dual analog channel inputs. This FPGA features 16 MB of ZBT RAM and is optionally configurable with dual GC4016 Graychip co-processors. The card’s second command-and-control FPGA provides I/O including 64-bit/133-MHz PCI-X. An eight-lane PCI Express interconnect provides direct off-board data throughput rates up to 2.5 GB/s. For development, a firmware development kit is available that includes VHDL modules for interfacing the card’s ADCs, DDC, control FPGA, and local bus to the user FPGA. Software support includes drivers for VxWorks and Linux. Available in a range of air- and conduction-cooled formats, price for the XMC-E2201 starts at $9,620.
