The Thermo-String temperature sensor employs long wire leads up to 150 mm to allow placement close to hot spot areas that may not be on the PCB or reachable by surface-mount negative temperature coefficient thermistors on a motherboard. Utilizing current NCP series surface-mount thermistors, the Thermo-String NXF series exhibits a maximum head size of 2 mm and specifies operating temperatures in the range of -40?C to +125?C. Suitable for lead free soldering, the thermistor is also resistant to vibration and shock and meets ELV/UL requirements. The Thermo-String is available for $0.16 to 0.24 each in volume. Lead-time is approximately eight weeks. MURATA ELECTRONICS NORTH AMERICA INC., Smyrna, GA. (770) 436-1300.
