The SlimStack board-to-board connectors feature pitches as small as 0.40 mm and an ultra-narrow width of 2.60 mm. The connectors have a profile height of 1.00 mm, but offer greater space savings than many versions 0.90 mm high. The connectors come in 20- to 80-circuit versions. Gold-plated grounding and soldering tabs save space while providing secure PCB retention and electrical grounding. The solder tab uses a friction-lock design that, when combined with a tuning-fork terminal design, provides a tactile click feeling for secure contact reliability and protection against drop impact. The tuning fork terminal design also provides a long wipe length for superior electrical contact reliability. PCB tracing patterns can be run underneath the connector’s housing to provide design flexibility and space savings. The system is rated at 50 V and 0.3 A. Housing designs include sufficient space for robotic pick-and-place, and packaging is on embossed tape to accommodate that method. Optional vacuum tape is available if required.
