Dominating DDR3

Corsair’s Dominator DDR3 memory kit targets high performance Core i5 and i7 processors.

Dominator DDR3 memory kits

Corsair’s Dominator DDR3 memory kits come in a range of sizes and performance statistics. These include four and six stick solutions that target 2 and 3 channel motherboards like Gigabytes 2 channel GA-P55A-UD6 for 1156 socket i5 and i7 processors as well as the 3 channel GA-X58A-UD7 for 1366 socket chips like Intel’s Nehalem Core i7 Extreme Edition. Latency ranges from 7-7-7-20 to 9-9-9-24.

The Dominator memory 240-pin DIMMs are encased with high quality heat sinks with Corsair’s Dual-path Heat Exchange (DHX) technology. DHX will be key for overclockers looking to get the most performance out of a system.

In addition, the kit comes with a cooling system consisting of a pair of fans with side clips. The clips hold the fan above, but not touching, the DIMMs. This is handy if a mix of memory is used although you need to have identical memory for each channel. In general it is best to have identical memory for the whole system.
