Addressing the need for ever-increasing bandwidth on medium- and long-haul communications networks, this GaAs product family consists of 14 analog and digital ICs with a speed of 10 Gb/s. The first four devices are an 8:1 multiplexer, 1:8 demultiplexer, exclusive-OR/NOR circuit, and a decision circuit designed to support optical carrier (OC-192) rates at 10 Gb/s. The devices are said to provide four times the bandwidth of OC-48 and 16 times the bandwidth of SONET using fiber-optic cable.
