For demanding video-processing applications, the G2 graphics PMC family enlists Radeon 9000 graphics processors that support 2D/3D acceleration, OpenGL, and DirectX. The family consists of three models: the G2 Basic, G2 Dual, and the G2 Plus. Each is available in commercial, extended temperature, or conduction-cooled versions. The G2 Basic provides a single output with a range of format options including DVI with resolutions up to 1,600 x 1,200, LVDS, RGB, NTSC, PAL, and S-Video. Providing the same output support options, the G2 Dual adds a second display channel. The G2 Plus provides dual-display outputs plus up to two input channels. It also provides graphic-overlay capabilities for applications requiring display and manipulation of multiple-video streams. The three modules are supported by optional OpenGL drivers from ALT Software, which are available for a number of operating systems including Linux, VxWorks, Integrity, and Windows XP. Single-unit prices start at $2,200. SBS TECHNOLOGIES INC., Albuquerque, NM. (505) 875-0600.
