Targeted for use in a variety of status indicator and display backlighting applications, the 1104B series of top-view surface-mount LEDs features a wide, 120¡ viewing angle with a typical luminous intensity of up to 120 mcd, depending on color.

Targeted for use in a variety of status indicator and display backlighting applications, the 1104B series of top-view surface-mount LEDs features a wide, 120¡ viewing angle with a typical luminous intensity of up to 120 mcd, depending on color. The series comes in a rainbow of colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue-green and blue. The LEDs can withstand an operating temperature range of -40¡ to 100¡C for use in variable temperature environments commonly encountered in automotive and portable computer applications, for example. Off course, they can also be used in displays or indicators in heavy transportation andr recreational vehicles, as well as industrial equipment operator interfaces and office equipment status panels. The LEDs, depending on color, have the following operating specs: 80-125 mW power dissipation, 20-50 mA forward current, 50-150 mA peak forward current, and 4V-5V reverse voltage. Derating is 0.5 to 0.75 mA/¡C. And to support automated assembly, the LEDs were designed with a standard PLCC-2 package in a 2.2 x 2.8-mm footprint. And they are compatible with dip and reflow soldering equipment, with a peak temperature exposure of 240¡C for up to 5 seconds.
