RF Spectrum Analyzer Snares Elusive Transients

Sept. 1, 1998

Designers of mobile phones, wireless components and base stations will find many uses for the Model 3066 spectrum analyzer, a dc-to-3-GHz unit that captures and displays elusive transients and random events to help get products to market more quickly. The real-time instrument is able to acquire and display a 5-MHz frequency band simultaneously. This is claimed as the broadest real-time capture band available in a spectrum/modulation analyzer. The instrument's 5-MHz reach covers a full channel width for popular wireless technologies, including GSM, IS-136, PDC, CDMA and wideband-CDMA. As a result, designers can easily see transients. And a zoom mode makes analysis even easier.
