Designed for use in pulse-code modulated IR remote control systems, this photomodule combines a photodetector and preamplifier IC in one package and comes in seven carrier frequencies ranging from 30 to 56 kHz. The devices provide enhanced immunity against all kinds of light source disturbances by providing an AGC-controlled preamplifier and internal metal shielding so no disturbance pulse can occur at the output. An integrated filter provides an improved PCM frequency signal-to-disturbance light ratio. Sensitivity of the device reaches up to 30 meters in dark ambient conditions or further through use of the firm's TSALXXX IR emitters.
