Designed specifically for Internet and Windows-based terminals, the SAA9730 integrated multimedia and peripheral controller IC provides high-speed Internet access through a modem or Ethernet and includes a flexible PCI interface that can connect to any processor. The device integrates essential functionality required for high-speed Internet interface and access.In an SAA9730 Windows-based terminal, the applications run on a host server, with the terminal connecting to the server through an Ethernet LAN. As an Internet access terminal, the SAA9730 receives analog or digital video data from the video port, processes it, and displays it on a CRT or monitor.
