Mini CCFL Generates Backlighting For Large Displays

A miniature cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL) has been developed for backlighting large flat panel displays, such as 36" to 60" LCDs. Measuring only 2.4 mm in diameter and 440 mm long, the Model BF2440 generates 30,000 cd/m2, consumes less than 1W, and provides 20,000 hr. of lamp life at standard operating current.
