Software Revs Up Cable Design And Testing

April 1, 1999

Used to design cables and simultaneously create test specifications to apply to the prototypes, the CableEye PC-based cable tester makes it easier to test, document and label cables of all kinds. The Windows interface lets users test a cable in less than 1 second, view a graphic wiring display of the cable schematic, add descriptive notes, and save cable data in a searchable database for future reference. Label printing software is built-in, and a high-speed serial port driver enables fast data acquisition of more than 1000 points for quick production testing of complex cables and wiring.
