The Model 3040 precision thermometer uses an integrated scanner which reportedly makes it possible to connect up to 16 RTD sensors or 32 thermocouples. Linearization according to DIN IEC is available for 10 different thermocouples and five RTDs and can be selected for each channel. The sequencer function allows the user to scan all the channels automatically and to store up to 100,000 readings in memory. The instrument can be used as a stand-alone device for temperature data collection without using a PC. It's equipped with an RS-232 port and the IEEE-488 interface standard, allowing it also to be used in automated systems. A high one-year accuracy of 0.003°C can be reached by a dc current measurement bridge. Differential measurements against a reference can be carried out and displayed. Up to 7 1/2 digits are displayed with a stability of better than 4 ppm.
