A pair of ICs for OC-48 fiber-optic communication systems delivers low-noise performance at low cost, it's claimed. The TTRN012G5 is a clock synthesizer and data multiplexer IC, while the TRCV012G5 is a limiting amplifier, clock recovery and data demultiplexer IC. Both allow design of error-free optical transmission systems with an incremental amount of jitter.
